7 Ideas for catamaran yacht design
A lot of the superyachts get chartered from time to time. The people who can afford that ($200K per week?) don't always value the boat, or the crew. It's just a binge-party. Things get damaged and they don't care because they can pay for anything they break. And they are not coming back. These experiences are not the best memories for the crew. The owner is generally different. The boat is very expensive, they know it -- they sign the cheques -- and they value their time on it very much. They are not there for "a week".
Changing Captains and crews is a big deal. Not fun. The result is usually common courtesy -- best investment in the long run. I've seen this on Sea Wolf as a guest on quite a few voyages in the Caribbean, and the Pacific off the Central America coast. And heard a lot of stories... And this, sorry, is a rather honest picture of what generally happens on a superyacht. You're trying to stay awake until dinner because you're exhausted from being in, on on, and under, the water all day.
